Showing at Brecon Estate winery

Today I dropped off 3 pieces with my friends at Brecon Estate winery. Not only is their wine exceptional, but they’re all about supporting local artists and craftsmen. Go check them out, taste some good wine, and see some sculptures while you’re at it! #keepitlocal

Phantom Project

I just dropped off a piece for the Phantom Project show downtown San Luis Obispo, CA. It looks like it’s going to be a great show!

If you’re local, come say hi at the artists’ reception this Friday from 6-9pm., 959 Higuera st.  Here are the show details:

Live Edge Coffee Table

organic modern coffee tableI came across this monolithic slab of walnut half buried in the mud at a local mill. It was soaking wet, completely weathered, and had some bug issues. The slab was 7″ thick, but I had to remove a full inch in order to clean it up and flatten it.  coffee table slab flatteningimg_1973

I used reclaimed douglas fir blocks for the base, and finished them with an ebonizing process.

The coffee table finished out at 60″ long, 18″ wide, and 15″ hi.
